This winter, the northern lights will shine above your workplace. We’re looking for experienced and motivated people to join our seasonal teams in Finnish Lapland. If you enjoy good food, clean air and crisp winter days, this is a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful and memorable setting.
About the Jobs
We are hiring chefs and kitchen staff for a range of restaurants and resorts across Lapland. Positions include:
- À la carte and buffet chefs
- Pizza and burger cooks
- Assistant chefs / commis
- Head chefs and shift leaders (chef de partie, sous chef)
We will do our best to match the role and location to your experience and preferences.
Employment Period
- Most contracts run from November or December until March.
- Some start earlier in autumn and continue into spring.
- Shorter contracts during the Christmas peak season are also available.
Locations
Jobs are available throughout Lapland, mainly in and around ski resorts.
Typical destinations include: Levi, Rovaniemi, Ruka, Ylläs, Saariselkä, Ranua, Kemi and others.
Some areas are lively and busy, others are quiet and close to nature. Rovaniemi is the main city for those who want a mix of both.
Working Hours
- Average of 30–37.5 hours per week
- 90–112.5 hours per three-week period
Salary and Benefits
- €13–20 per hour, depending on role and experience
- Extra pay for Sundays, holidays, evening and night shifts (according to collective agreements)
- Occupational health care included
Accommodation
Accommodation is usually arranged by the employer:
- Single or shared rooms, sometimes private apartments
- Rent typically €200–500/month, depending on location
Winter in Lapland
The season is busiest in December and during February school holidays.
Temperatures can vary between –5 °C and –30 °C.
Good winter clothing and footwear are essential.
Working Together
We can often arrange jobs for couples or friends in the same location, and shared accommodation if needed.
For EU and Non-EU Applicants
- EU citizens: No work permit needed. A Finnish tax number and tax card are required.
- Non-EU citizens: Residence permit required. Cost €100–400. Processing time 1–3 months. We assist with the application process.
